Spring Reign Call to Artists

AiA Presents Spring Reign

It’s a new decade and that calls for a new Artists in Action juried event!

You are invited to participate in AiA’s inaugural springtime art exhibit: Spring Reign! How will you interpret ‘Spring Reign’?  Are you thinking wet and seasonal? A rebirth of imagination or earth? A time for majesty perhaps? You decide, then release your creative shackles and show us your best interpretation. Our submission deadline, Sunday, March 1st, will be here before you know it, so get your ideas flowing and start your artwork now!

The Call to Artists officially opens thru ArtCall.org on Wednesday, January 15. All artists may submit one or two works of art, each up to 20 x 24 inches including frame. 3D work is welcomed. The exhibit will be held at Elsinore Framing & Fine Art Gallery beginning on Salem’s First Wednesday, April 1, with an artist reception (RECEPTION HAS BEEN CANCELED) and awards ceremony including prizes. This event will also feature a People’s Choice award! Join in the excitement of AiA’s first juried art event of the New Year, Spring Reign!

Image Requirements:

  • Remember your artworks will be juried into the exhibit only from your photos so make sure they're good ones! Capture your images in good lighting in a professional manner. For 2-D art consider removing the frame, glass and mat to avoid glare and distractions. For 3-D work, use a solid colored background and get close to the object. When capturing make sure the object is square in the viewfinder and that the desired image fills the viewfinder. Be sure your subject is in sharp focus.
  • You may attach up to 2 images for each entry. This is useful if you want to show a full-view image and a detailed closeup, for example, or, if you want to show 3-D art from two perspectives.
  • Use image editing software or an on-line image editing tool such as PicResize.com to ensure your images meeting the following requirements:
  • Images must be under 4mb and a maximum of 4800px on the longest side. Minimim size is 960px.
  • Image files must be saved and submitted in .JPG format.
  • You DO NOT need to name your files in any specific way; filenames are programatically renamed on upload.
